Reservation Fees:
May 1st through
September 30th a nonrefundable reservation fee of $6.00 is charged for
each permit issued. There is a maximum of 9 persons / 4 canoes allowed on
a permit traveling and camping together. The deposit paid for all groups
will be $38.00 regardless of group size. Any adjustments for more or less
will be initiated at the time the permit is picked up.
October 1st through April
30th there are no reservation fees or user fees.
All use requires a self issued permit which
is free. Self issued permits are available at entry point kiosks (parking
areas) and USFS Ranger Stations.
User Fees:
May 1st through
September 30th there is a one-time user fee of $16.00 (adult) and
$8.00 (child 17 and under) per permit.
October 1st through April
30th there is no user fee. All
use requires a self issued permit which is free. Self issued permits are
available at entry point kiosks (parking areas) and USFS Ranger Stations.

Seasonal Fee Cards:
Seasonal Fee Cards may be purchased in
person after May 1 from any Superior National Forest District Office. This
card fulfills the fee requirements for the season but does not eliminate
the need for obtaining a BWCAW permit and paying the $6 non-refundable reservation fee.

** Please note that the discounted prices for the seasonal fee cards are
only applied at the time of issuing the permit. When making reservations,
you will pay for a minimum of 2 adult overnight user fees. Refunds will be
applied at the time of permit issuance. ** All cards (Interagency
Senior/Access Pass Holders, or Seasonal) must be presented at the time of
permit pickup to receive a discount, otherwise the full fee will be
charged.
